Nice, new location.

Nice, new location. However, when it came to my oil change that part was great but when I was asked about the other services recommended he could of have been better at communicating with me and done the research to see what my vehicle has got done previously before recommending something so high top dollar when I previously have got it done before. I understand is a new facility and you'll need to upcharge but I feel be more honest and open to exactly what my car needs done after researching the history on it. I want to continue to come here for my car needs. After coming home and drove it the next day the car started having a burning smell and I was not advise I would encounter that. The smell went away after driving it a couple of times.

I used to like this dealership.

I used to like this dealership. I bought my car here. The last visit I felt I was being scammed. I was told I needed at least four major items done totaling over 1k. I had my vehicle inspected elsewhere and none of that was listed. I realize I need maintenance on my vehicle. But to scam me about a couple of those items was unethical. I won’t be back. And my next vehicle will be purchased elsewhere.

And all the other vehicles that dropped off after mine was getting done before mine and they were washing their vehicles but mine didn’t get washed.

They only preformed an oil change.

They only preformed an oil change. They did not fix my windshield like I asked and kept my car for a week. Had to call to see what was going on with it. Had a couple of other mechanical issues that supposedly were not covered by the $8000 warranty that was sold to us. Terrible service, communication, and crooks.

I bought a used vehicle here and it was a complete lemon. I tried reaching out multiple times but no one would reach back out to me. I finally sold the car (to cut my losses) and when I reached out to David (sales manager) to get a refund on my "Shottenkirk Care" because NOTHING was covered and I was repeatedly ignored when trying to rectify the situations. David said he wished I would have come to them before selling the car...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When explaining that I had multiple times giving dates that I made contact, and no one would help or respond to my messages, David said they couldn't help me or refund the "Shottenkirk Care" package that turned out to be useless. The "Shottenkirk Care" is a complete scam. Run from this dealership as they don't take care of their customers once they walk out the door.

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a Chevrolet Tahoe. I met Havin Hill, the sales rep. I told him what I was looking for and that I had seen online that they had a 2016 Tahoe that I was interested in. The price online was 32K. Havin Hill was extremely nice and helpful. He gave me two Tahoe's to pick from. I picked the Tahoe that suited me best. I knew the Tahoe was used. 05/16/2022 the date of my purchase the mileage on the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was 103572. I purchased several warranties for the used Tahoe in the belief that they would cover any and all things for my vehicle. I paid 10k in warranties through Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford and ETHOS GROUP INC. Shottenkirk Customer Care was $1,995.00. Prepaid Maintenance from ETHOS was $1,495.00. Ethos Mechanical Breakdown was $6,640.00. The financial woman told me that the warranties would cover bumper to bumper. I went ahead and got all the warranties because it was a used car and had over 103k miles on it under the impression that my warranties would cover it. What I did not know and what they did not tell me is that they sold me the Tahoe as is. I don't understand why they sold me 10k in warranties when they didn't cover any of the problems that came up in the first month of owning the Tahoe. I had to replace the battery on the Tahoe within 3 days of getting it from Shottenkirk. The check engine light came on in the Tahoe. I have family that are in the mechanical field. I had them run a test for me to tell what the codes were for. At that time it was fuel issues codes. I took my Tahoe to Shottenkirk to have them look at the codes and to see if they would repair the issues. After waiting 45 minutes the Service Manager Tim Krolak came out to tell me that it was just a censor and they cleared the code. I knew that was wrong. At that point I felt I was lied to and Shottenkirk lost my trust in that moment. I took my Tahoe to Jerry's GM in Weatherford TX on 06/07/2022 they had to replace my fuel injectors. None of my warranties covered the bill. I paid $1,448.00 when I picked up my Tahoe. The check engine light came on again and I took it back to Jerry's GM to get serviced 06/22/2022. This time the Catalytic Converter had to be replaced. Once again my warranties didn't cover the service. The amount was for $2,417.39. I paid once again out of my pocket. In total in those couple of weeks I paid $3,865.78. Fast track to today 09/28/2022 my Tahoe is back at Jerry's GM. I took in yesterday 09/27/2022 because the Tahoe stalled on my children and I as we were driving on the HWY. I felt the Tahoe was unsafe for my family. Today 09/28/2022 I went to Shottenkirk Toyota to speak with the general manager Barry Schwerdt. I was met outside by a sales rep. I didn't get his name. He said to give him a moment. I waited outside as he went inside to get me the GM. 2 men came out and greeted me outside. They approached me and asked me what they could do to help me? I asked each of them if they were the GM. Each of them said no. I asked if the assistant GM was available and they said no. They said their GM was out of town. I asked the 2 men for their names and at first they would not give them to me. Finally Brandon introduced himself but did not tell me what his role was. I asked the men if we could go inside and sit? They said yes. I brought my contract from the sale on the Tahoe and all the work that I had to do to the Tahoe and simply asked them to please buy the Tahoe back and do the right thing. Brandon said to give him a minute and that he would be back with an answer. Brandon came back and said that they do not buy cars over 100k miles. I know for a fact that is a lie. My Tahoe was sold to me at 103k. I looked on their website today and they have several used cars for sale with over 100k miles. I also learned that Brandon Cooper I is the internet director. Brandon offered me the opportunity to trade my Tahoe in for a different vehicle. When I said no he proceeded to tell me how wrong I was for not taking the Tahoe back to them when it came back on again after their Service manager Tim Krolak cleared my car code and lied about the issues. That's when I tried to explain to him that I bought 10k in warranties. Brandon still said he couldn't help me. I told Brandon he would be hearing from my lawyer. Brandon then said he could no longer speak to me. I did go to my lawyer when I left there. Come to find out my lawyer could not help because Shottenkirk did not check the boss that allowed my warranties to work. So I am reaching out to the Attorney General for help. Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford is full of lies and scams. I do not recommend Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford.

Just terrible service, bought a car and the seat broke 2 months. They tried to charge me $1000 for a new seat motor. They lie about prices mandatory make you buy shottenkirk care for $1995 tons of hidden fees. The. They won’t help you and ignore calls. I would stay far away from these people. Not only does my daughter have to pay the overpriced car. Now to fix it for $1000 which was all her graduation money . Peggy in service was rude us, Brandon the manager was completely unhelpful. I regret buying here. They are truly a shotty place

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. We disclose this on our website under each vehicle’s information page. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us at 817-597-5000 and ask for one of our managers."

These crooks absolutely ripped off my family on a recent purchase. The most unethical business transaction I've seen in a long time! They didn't even bother to fill up the tank or wash the vehicle upon purchase. Lied about having a clean Carfax. The car has hail damage and an accident. No wonder they didn't wash it. Charged almost $10k for warranty and maintenance plan on a $30k car. Gave $7k less for trade than KBB value. This is a dealership that practices every stereotypical tactic to rip someone's head off and burry them in their purchase when the buyer doesn't know what they're getting into. They flat out took advantage of my family and the sales manager or GM will not even answer the phone. Beware!!!

. Went to Shotttenkirk for an oil change. $78.00 later was on our way home. Got home and checked everything over as I usually do, only to find the eng. air filter was not checked as the cabin filter. Both were plugged and nasty. . Replaced both myself. Don't know what happened and how it was missed, but it needs to be fixed. Contacted Shottenkirk, no response. Have two other Toyota's do not know if I will return.

Dread the buying experience!

Dread the buying experience!! Financed a used $30K truck. Prior to delivery, it had to go into the shop for a few repairs, alignment, new front tires, and detail. The salesman suggested giving him a week to get it done. We waited to finalize for a week. Headed back to the dealership, waited 5 more hours for a detail. took delivery of the truck, drove 3/4 of the way home and the truck broke down. Fuel rail problems, turbo problems, DEF fuel problems. Since it was 9PM and the day before they were closed for a day, I texted my salesman and sent all the photos of the issue from the code reader. During the middle of the week, I got a text saying he had spoken to his service department and they suggested I bring the truck back. I exclaimed that the truck is basically not driveable at this point without having some safety concerns. We arranged to drive it in on the following Saturday. When I got there, he suggested taking the truck back to service and get it on their computer. They took it back for 3+ hours and he came back and said the truck has more issues than the code reader said, and suggested I look at another truck much newer and very very expensive, $70K. He suggested another truck in my range and we test drove it. I said I was not sure about this truck and its customizations. I said it is worth seeing what we could do to get into this one. He came back later and said," we can trade you out of your current truck". I was confused as I had not even been able to drive this one home before it broke down. He said there were only 2 options; get into a new truck for $70K+ and we trade you out of the one you have. The only thing is, this truck is now not worth as much as you paid for it, which would require some funds for a new down payment. I told him it was not an option as I didn't have anymore funds. He said if I bought the powertrain warranty, this wouldn't be an issue. I said I couldn't afford a warranty which would increase the monthly payment by upwards of $100+ more dollars. He said, "sorry those are your options". I repeated 3 or 4 times, are you comfortable having me drive away with a life safety issue that could break down or hurt me driving it home. He said they couldn't really do more for me at that point. The original salesman said he would talk to his General Manager when he got in on the following Tuesday, which he did not, since I didn't get a call or text from him. Each week I text the salesman, called and left messages with the front desk person to escalate my concern to the General Manager. 4 weeks later, the truck is now showing an additional limp code which reduces the speed to 5mph. Since I am 2 hours north, I took the truck to Shottenkirk in Prosper for a full evaluation and they came back with $11K worth of repairs. Just some of the repairs are; ECU update, drive belt replace, leaking rear pinion seal, steering damper, all 4 shock replacement, steering box!!!, and DEF System repair/replace!!! etc... and the list goes on. Currently, I am left with a truck I can't drive, repairs I can't afford. a dealership that does not seem to care about my safety. In my best evaluation, they take in trucks with "known" issues, pass off the issue to the new buyer, which in turn passes off the repair cost to the newly signed warranty company. Rationality says any seller would use this loophole to save a buck and in this case benefit from the transaction financially. If I have to tell you to make sure you get a warranty, it might help you down the road but it also absolves the dealer from doing their on costly repairs to get it sellable.

Dread the buying experience!

Dread the buying experience!! Financed a used $30K truck. Prior to delivery, it had to go into the shop for a few repairs, alignment, new front tires, and detail. The salesman suggested giving him a week to get it done. We waited to finalize for a week. Headed back to the dealership, waited 5 more hours for a detail. took delivery of the truck, drove 3/4 of the way home and the truck broke down. Fuel rail problems, turbo problems, DEF fuel problems. Since it was 9PM and the day before they were closed for a day, I texted my salesman and sent all the photos of the issue from the code reader. During the middle of the week, I got a text saying he had spoken to his service department and they suggested I bring the truck back. I exclaimed that the truck is basically not driveable at this point without having some safety concerns. We arranged to drive it in on the following Saturday. When I got there, he suggested taking the truck back to service and get it on their computer. They took it back for 3+ hours and he came back and said the truck has more issues than the code reader said, and suggested I look at another truck much newer and very very expensive, $70K. He suggested another truck in my range and we test drove it. I said I was not sure about this truck and its customizations. I said it is worth seeing what we could do to get into this one. He came back later and said," we can trade you out of your current truck". I was confused as I had not even been able to drive this one home before it broke down. He said there were only 2 options; get into a new truck for $70K+ and we trade you out of the one you have. The only thing is, this truck is now not worth as much as you paid for it, which would require some funds for a new down payment. I told him it was not an option as I didn't have anymore funds. He said if I bought the powertrain warranty, this wouldn't be an issue. I said I couldn't afford a warranty which would increase the monthly payment by upwards of $100+ more dollars. He said, "sorry those are your options". I repeated 3 or 4 times, are you comfortable having me drive away with a life safety issue that could break down or hurt me driving it home. He said they couldn't really do more for me at that point. The original salesman said he would talk to his General Manager when he got in on the following Tuesday, which he did not, since I didn't get a call or text from him. Each week I text the salesman, called and left messages with the front desk person to escalate my concern to the General Manager. 4 weeks later, the truck is now showing an additional limp code which reduces the speed to 5mph. Since I am 2 hours north, I took the truck to Shottenkirk in Prosper for a full evaluation and they came back with $11K worth of repairs. Just some of the repairs are; ECU update, drive belt replace, leaking rear pinion seal, steering damper, all 4 shock replacement, steering box!!!, and DEF System repair/replace!!! etc... and the list goes on. Currently, I am left with a truck I can't drive, repairs I can't afford. a dealership that does not seem to care about my safety. In my best evaluation, they take in trucks with "known" issues, pass off the issue to the new buyer, which in turn passes off the repair cost to the newly signed warranty company. Rationality says any seller would use this loophole to save a buck and in this case benefit from the transaction financially. If I have to tell you to make sure you get a warranty, it might help you down the road but it also absolves the dealer from doing their on costly repairs to get it sellable.

So shady.

So shady. We showed up to look at 4 different cars they showed on their website as being on their lot. We clearly circled the lot many times and found none of the 4…finally went inside to see if we could look at any of the 4. They made us sit down and give them all this info…Travis said he was going to look them up and be right back. 20 min later we finally walked out. Went across the street for gas, called back over and talked to another guy who said…”oh yeah…2 of those are available. When can you be here.” I explained what had just happened…he said…”well, let me actually go put eyes on the cars and I’ll call you back.” He called back about 10min late and not 1 single car we were wanting to see was on the lot. All are supposedly at their dealership in Grandbury, a couple going through the inspection process. Truly, a bunch of shady used car salesmen. These kind of guys give the rest a bad name.

Ridiculous fees. Had a 2017 Tahoe for $43,974 on their website and the out the door price after $5k in ridiculous fees brought the out the door price to $52k. Please avoid places like this that prey on unsuspecting people. Complaints have been filed with Ken Paxton’s office/Texas Consumer Protection and the Texas DMV Dealer complaints. Glad I didn’t drive 3 hours one way. Shottenkirk Care is $3k and only offers 3k miles of protection. Spend your money elsewhere.

Be sure you know that they will tack on 3-5 thousand dollars for being a VIP. It’s a package they make you buy. The price you see on the internet is not the price you pay. Brian Cooper is smooth and tries to convince you that it is “added into the price” and that it is stated online. I was unable to find it, even when I pulled it up on my phone in front of him. He said it was because I was on a phone and not a computer. I did eventually find the hidden price later after he showed me the steps to find it. This feels like a very shady practice to me.

Bought the truck and drove it home. It went to a death wobble and contacted dealer....told me to bring it in and i did, They returned it to me saying they test drove it and there was no problems at that time. I looked into it and there is a lot of complaints on that truck having that problem.

Great Dealership-Work for the business

Excellent follow-up from my first inquiry on line. Friendly and courteous sales staff, worked with Brandon, and management and was able to work out a deal in a short time. I bought a used vehicle and was treated as a valuable customer the entire time. With all the choices there are to purchase a vehicle, this dealership works hard to make a deal that's fair, workable, and affordable. I would recommend them to anyone and plan on being a future customer as well.

Car not ready for the trip home

No wheel lock caused us to spend almost $300 dollars and an additional 3-4 hours getting home. Then it took almost a month for the "Shottenkirk Care program" to reimburse me for 2/3 of the expenses it took to make the trip.... I would say this falls firmly on Service! Air and cabin Filter were filthy, and the Oil was also not in good shape. And I ended up having to go get it inspected for the plates....Very poor Service department in my opinion....I will tell friends and associates of this experience.

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. We disclose this on our website under each vehicle’s information page. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us at 817-597-5000 and ask for one of our managers."

. Went to Shotttenkirk for an oil change. $78.00 later was on our way home. Got home and checked everything over as I usually do, only to find the eng. air filter was not checked as the cabin filter. Both were plugged and nasty. . Replaced both myself. Don't know what happened and how it was missed, but it needs to be fixed. Contacted Shottenkirk, no response. Have two other Toyota's do not know if I will return.

This dealer and owns all but one dealership in Granbury

This dealer and owns all but one dealership in Granbury Texas and several if not all in Weatherford Texas. They are crooks. They have a very bad reputation here in Granbury. I was lied too about the list price of vehicles several times and one time in particular the price went up $4,000.00+ after I told them that I would pay in cash since they would not let me use my own financing to buy the Toyota that I was looking at. Stay away if you value honesty, respect, and transparency. You can ask any number of people here in my area and they will tell you don't deal with the Shottenkirks in Granbury or Weatherford Texas. Look else where if you need a vehicle. They will screw you over!

Do NOT purchase a vehicle from Shottenkirk Toyota!!! I wish I would have gotten onto their Facebook page and read everybody else's comments before doing business with them. We are from out of state and came in to purchase a vehicle for our daughter. The day after we purchased the truck, the check engine light came on and we discovered that the back up camera didn't work so I called the salesman who instructed us to bring it in the following Monday. This cost us to drive an hour, each way back to the dealership only for them to tell us that there was nothing they could do to help us. Now I'm from California and in California we don't do business that way. If a vehicle goes on the lot it's been inspected, and it is ready to be sold, and all parts should be working or at a minimum, it is should be disclosed to the buyer what is not working. After receiving the first payment from the finance company we were alerted to a purchase price of $10,000 more than we had expected. Upon calling, Justin, the finance manager, who then explained that we were charged for some VIP package which we had never heard of until I had a conversation with him on the phone. They also got us for $3600 maintenance package, which in his office, we declined every maintenance package that had been offered to us. Buyer beware!! Do not do business with these people. They are not in the customer service business. They don't care about their customers.

I bought a used vehicle here and it was a complete lemon. I tried reaching out multiple times but no one would reach back out to me. I finally sold the car (to cut my losses) and when I reached out to David (sales manager) to get a refund on my "Shottenkirk Care" because NOTHING was covered and I was repeatedly ignored when trying to rectify the situations. David said he wished I would have come to them before selling the car...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When explaining that I had multiple times giving dates that I made contact, and no one would help or respond to my messages, David said they couldn't help me or refund the "Shottenkirk Care" package that turned out to be useless. The "Shottenkirk Care" is a complete scam. Run from this dealership as they don't take care of their customers once they walk out the door.

Nice, new location.

Nice, new location. However, when it came to my oil change that part was great but when I was asked about the other services recommended he could of have been better at communicating with me and done the research to see what my vehicle has got done previously before recommending something so high top dollar when I previously have got it done before. I understand is a new facility and you'll need to upcharge but I feel be more honest and open to exactly what my car needs done after researching the history on it. I want to continue to come here for my car needs. After coming home and drove it the next day the car started having a burning smell and I was not advise I would encounter that. The smell went away after driving it a couple of times.

I used to like this dealership.

I used to like this dealership. I bought my car here. The last visit I felt I was being scammed. I was told I needed at least four major items done totaling over 1k. I had my vehicle inspected elsewhere and none of that was listed. I realize I need maintenance on my vehicle. But to scam me about a couple of those items was unethical. I won’t be back. And my next vehicle will be purchased elsewhere.

And all the other vehicles that dropped off after mine was getting done before mine and they were washing their vehicles but mine didn’t get washed.

They only preformed an oil change.

They only preformed an oil change. They did not fix my windshield like I asked and kept my car for a week. Had to call to see what was going on with it. Had a couple of other mechanical issues that supposedly were not covered by the $8000 warranty that was sold to us. Terrible service, communication, and crooks.

I bought a used vehicle here and it was a complete lemon. I tried reaching out multiple times but no one would reach back out to me. I finally sold the car (to cut my losses) and when I reached out to David (sales manager) to get a refund on my "Shottenkirk Care" because NOTHING was covered and I was repeatedly ignored when trying to rectify the situations. David said he wished I would have come to them before selling the car...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When explaining that I had multiple times giving dates that I made contact, and no one would help or respond to my messages, David said they couldn't help me or refund the "Shottenkirk Care" package that turned out to be useless. The "Shottenkirk Care" is a complete scam. Run from this dealership as they don't take care of their customers once they walk out the door.

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a Chevrolet Tahoe. I met Havin Hill, the sales rep. I told him what I was looking for and that I had seen online that they had a 2016 Tahoe that I was interested in. The price online was 32K. Havin Hill was extremely nice and helpful. He gave me two Tahoe's to pick from. I picked the Tahoe that suited me best. I knew the Tahoe was used. 05/16/2022 the date of my purchase the mileage on the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was 103572. I purchased several warranties for the used Tahoe in the belief that they would cover any and all things for my vehicle. I paid 10k in warranties through Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford and ETHOS GROUP INC. Shottenkirk Customer Care was $1,995.00. Prepaid Maintenance from ETHOS was $1,495.00. Ethos Mechanical Breakdown was $6,640.00. The financial woman told me that the warranties would cover bumper to bumper. I went ahead and got all the warranties because it was a used car and had over 103k miles on it under the impression that my warranties would cover it. What I did not know and what they did not tell me is that they sold me the Tahoe as is. I don't understand why they sold me 10k in warranties when they didn't cover any of the problems that came up in the first month of owning the Tahoe. I had to replace the battery on the Tahoe within 3 days of getting it from Shottenkirk. The check engine light came on in the Tahoe. I have family that are in the mechanical field. I had them run a test for me to tell what the codes were for. At that time it was fuel issues codes. I took my Tahoe to Shottenkirk to have them look at the codes and to see if they would repair the issues. After waiting 45 minutes the Service Manager Tim Krolak came out to tell me that it was just a censor and they cleared the code. I knew that was wrong. At that point I felt I was lied to and Shottenkirk lost my trust in that moment. I took my Tahoe to Jerry's GM in Weatherford TX on 06/07/2022 they had to replace my fuel injectors. None of my warranties covered the bill. I paid $1,448.00 when I picked up my Tahoe. The check engine light came on again and I took it back to Jerry's GM to get serviced 06/22/2022. This time the Catalytic Converter had to be replaced. Once again my warranties didn't cover the service. The amount was for $2,417.39. I paid once again out of my pocket. In total in those couple of weeks I paid $3,865.78. Fast track to today 09/28/2022 my Tahoe is back at Jerry's GM. I took in yesterday 09/27/2022 because the Tahoe stalled on my children and I as we were driving on the HWY. I felt the Tahoe was unsafe for my family. Today 09/28/2022 I went to Shottenkirk Toyota to speak with the general manager Barry Schwerdt. I was met outside by a sales rep. I didn't get his name. He said to give him a moment. I waited outside as he went inside to get me the GM. 2 men came out and greeted me outside. They approached me and asked me what they could do to help me? I asked each of them if they were the GM. Each of them said no. I asked if the assistant GM was available and they said no. They said their GM was out of town. I asked the 2 men for their names and at first they would not give them to me. Finally Brandon introduced himself but did not tell me what his role was. I asked the men if we could go inside and sit? They said yes. I brought my contract from the sale on the Tahoe and all the work that I had to do to the Tahoe and simply asked them to please buy the Tahoe back and do the right thing. Brandon said to give him a minute and that he would be back with an answer. Brandon came back and said that they do not buy cars over 100k miles. I know for a fact that is a lie. My Tahoe was sold to me at 103k. I looked on their website today and they have several used cars for sale with over 100k miles. I also learned that Brandon Cooper I is the internet director. Brandon offered me the opportunity to trade my Tahoe in for a different vehicle. When I said no he proceeded to tell me how wrong I was for not taking the Tahoe back to them when it came back on again after their Service manager Tim Krolak cleared my car code and lied about the issues. That's when I tried to explain to him that I bought 10k in warranties. Brandon still said he couldn't help me. I told Brandon he would be hearing from my lawyer. Brandon then said he could no longer speak to me. I did go to my lawyer when I left there. Come to find out my lawyer could not help because Shottenkirk did not check the boss that allowed my warranties to work. So I am reaching out to the Attorney General for help. Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford is full of lies and scams. I do not recommend Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford.

They lie about prices mandatory make you buy shottenkirk care for $1995 tons of hidden fees. The. They won’t help you and ignore calls. I would stay far away from these people. Not only does my daughter have to pay the overpriced car. Now to fix it for $1000 which was all her graduation money . Peggy in service was rude us, Brandon the manager was completely unhelpful. I regret buying here. They are truly a shotty place

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. These crooks absolutely ripped off my family on a recent purchase. The most unethical business transaction I've seen in a long time! They didn't even bother to fill up the tank or wash the vehicle upon purchase. Lied about having a clean Carfax. The car has hail damage and an accident. No wonder they didn't wash it. Charged almost $10k for warranty and maintenance plan on a $30k car. Gave $7k less for trade than KBB value. This is a dealership that practices every stereotypical tactic to rip someone's head off and burry them in their purchase when the buyer doesn't know what they're getting into. They flat out took advantage of my family and the sales manager or GM will not even answer the phone. Beware!!!

. Went to Shotttenkirk for an oil change. $78.00 later was on our way home. Got home and checked everything over as I usually do, only to find the eng. air filter was not checked as the cabin filter. Both were plugged and nasty. . Replaced both myself. Don't know what happened and how it was missed, but it needs to be fixed. Contacted Shottenkirk, no response. Have two other Toyota's do not know if I will return.

Dread the buying experience!

Dread the buying experience!! Financed a used $30K truck. Prior to delivery, it had to go into the shop for a few repairs, alignment, new front tires, and detail. The salesman suggested giving him a week to get it done. We waited to finalize for a week. Headed back to the dealership, waited 5 more hours for a detail. took delivery of the truck, drove 3/4 of the way home and the truck broke down. Fuel rail problems, turbo problems, DEF fuel problems. Since it was 9PM and the day before they were closed for a day, I texted my salesman and sent all the photos of the issue from the code reader. During the middle of the week, I got a text saying he had spoken to his service department and they suggested I bring the truck back. I exclaimed that the truck is basically not driveable at this point without having some safety concerns. We arranged to drive it in on the following Saturday. When I got there, he suggested taking the truck back to service and get it on their computer. They took it back for 3+ hours and he came back and said the truck has more issues than the code reader said, and suggested I look at another truck much newer and very very expensive, $70K. He suggested another truck in my range and we test drove it. I said I was not sure about this truck and its customizations. I said it is worth seeing what we could do to get into this one. He came back later and said," we can trade you out of your current truck". I was confused as I had not even been able to drive this one home before it broke down. He said there were only 2 options; get into a new truck for $70K+ and we trade you out of the one you have. The only thing is, this truck is now not worth as much as you paid for it, which would require some funds for a new down payment. I told him it was not an option as I didn't have anymore funds. He said if I bought the powertrain warranty, this wouldn't be an issue. I said I couldn't afford a warranty which would increase the monthly payment by upwards of $100+ more dollars. He said, "sorry those are your options". I repeated 3 or 4 times, are you comfortable having me drive away with a life safety issue that could break down or hurt me driving it home. He said they couldn't really do more for me at that point. The original salesman said he would talk to his General Manager when he got in on the following Tuesday, which he did not, since I didn't get a call or text from him. Each week I text the salesman, called and left messages with the front desk person to escalate my concern to the General Manager. 4 weeks later, the truck is now showing an additional limp code which reduces the speed to 5mph. Since I am 2 hours north, I took the truck to Shottenkirk in Prosper for a full evaluation and they came back with $11K worth of repairs. Just some of the repairs are; ECU update, drive belt replace, leaking rear pinion seal, steering damper, all 4 shock replacement, steering box!!!, and DEF System repair/replace!!! etc... and the list goes on. Currently, I am left with a truck I can't drive, repairs I can't afford. a dealership that does not seem to care about my safety. In my best evaluation, they take in trucks with "known" issues, pass off the issue to the new buyer, which in turn passes off the repair cost to the newly signed warranty company. Rationality says any seller would use this loophole to save a buck and in this case benefit from the transaction financially. If I have to tell you to make sure you get a warranty, it might help you down the road but it also absolves the dealer from doing their on costly repairs to get it sellable.

Dread the buying experience!

Dread the buying experience!! Financed a used $30K truck. Prior to delivery, it had to go into the shop for a few repairs, alignment, new front tires, and detail. The salesman suggested giving him a week to get it done. We waited to finalize for a week. Headed back to the dealership, waited 5 more hours for a detail. took delivery of the truck, drove 3/4 of the way home and the truck broke down. Fuel rail problems, turbo problems, DEF fuel problems. Since it was 9PM and the day before they were closed for a day, I texted my salesman and sent all the photos of the issue from the code reader. During the middle of the week, I got a text saying he had spoken to his service department and they suggested I bring the truck back. I exclaimed that the truck is basically not driveable at this point without having some safety concerns. We arranged to drive it in on the following Saturday. When I got there, he suggested taking the truck back to service and get it on their computer. They took it back for 3+ hours and he came back and said the truck has more issues than the code reader said, and suggested I look at another truck much newer and very very expensive, $70K. He suggested another truck in my range and we test drove it. I said I was not sure about this truck and its customizations. I said it is worth seeing what we could do to get into this one. He came back later and said," we can trade you out of your current truck". I was confused as I had not even been able to drive this one home before it broke down. He said there were only 2 options; get into a new truck for $70K+ and we trade you out of the one you have. The only thing is, this truck is now not worth as much as you paid for it, which would require some funds for a new down payment. I told him it was not an option as I didn't have anymore funds. He said if I bought the powertrain warranty, this wouldn't be an issue. I said I couldn't afford a warranty which would increase the monthly payment by upwards of $100+ more dollars. He said, "sorry those are your options". I repeated 3 or 4 times, are you comfortable having me drive away with a life safety issue that could break down or hurt me driving it home. He said they couldn't really do more for me at that point. The original salesman said he would talk to his General Manager when he got in on the following Tuesday, which he did not, since I didn't get a call or text from him. Each week I text the salesman, called and left messages with the front desk person to escalate my concern to the General Manager. 4 weeks later, the truck is now showing an additional limp code which reduces the speed to 5mph. Since I am 2 hours north, I took the truck to Shottenkirk in Prosper for a full evaluation and they came back with $11K worth of repairs. Just some of the repairs are; ECU update, drive belt replace, leaking rear pinion seal, steering damper, all 4 shock replacement, steering box!!!, and DEF System repair/replace!!! etc... and the list goes on. Currently, I am left with a truck I can't drive, repairs I can't afford. a dealership that does not seem to care about my safety. In my best evaluation, they take in trucks with "known" issues, pass off the issue to the new buyer, which in turn passes off the repair cost to the newly signed warranty company. Rationality says any seller would use this loophole to save a buck and in this case benefit from the transaction financially. If I have to tell you to make sure you get a warranty, it might help you down the road but it also absolves the dealer from doing their on costly repairs to get it sellable.

So shady.

So shady. We showed up to look at 4 different cars they showed on their website as being on their lot. We clearly circled the lot many times and found none of the 4…finally went inside to see if we could look at any of the 4. They made us sit down and give them all this info…Travis said he was going to look them up and be right back. 20 min later we finally walked out. Went across the street for gas, called back over and talked to another guy who said…”oh yeah…2 of those are available. When can you be here.” I explained what had just happened…he said…”well, let me actually go put eyes on the cars and I’ll call you back.” He called back about 10min late and not 1 single car we were wanting to see was on the lot. All are supposedly at their dealership in Grandbury, a couple going through the inspection process. Truly, a bunch of shady used car salesmen. These kind of guys give the rest a bad name.

Ridiculous fees. Had a 2017 Tahoe for $43,974 on their website and the out the door price after $5k in ridiculous fees brought the out the door price to $52k. Please avoid places like this that prey on unsuspecting people. Complaints have been filed with Ken Paxton’s office/Texas Consumer Protection and the Texas DMV Dealer complaints. Glad I didn’t drive 3 hours one way. Shottenkirk Care is $3k and only offers 3k miles of protection. Spend your money elsewhere.

Be sure you know that they will tack on 3-5 thousand dollars for being a VIP. It’s a package they make you buy. The price you see on the internet is not the price you pay. Brian Cooper is smooth and tries to convince you that it is “added into the price” and that it is stated online. I was unable to find it, even when I pulled it up on my phone in front of him. He said it was because I was on a phone and not a computer. I did eventually find the hidden price later after he showed me the steps to find it. This feels like a very shady practice to me.

Bought the truck and drove it home. It went to a death...

Bought the truck and drove it home. It went to a death wobble and contacted dealer....told me to bring it in and i did, They returned it to me saying they test drove it and there was no problems at that time. I looked into it and there is a lot of complaints on that truck having that problem.

Great Dealership-Work for the business

Excellent follow-up from my first inquiry on line. Friendly and courteous sales staff, worked with Brandon, and management and was able to work out a deal in a short time. I bought a used vehicle and was treated as a valuable customer the entire time. With all the choices there are to purchase a vehicle, this dealership works hard to make a deal that's fair, workable, and affordable. I would recommend them to anyone and plan on being a future customer as well.

Car not ready for the trip home

No wheel lock caused us to spend almost $300 dollars and an additional 3-4 hours getting home. Then it took almost a month for the "Shottenkirk Care program" to reimburse me for 2/3 of the expenses it took to make the trip.... I would say this falls firmly on Service! Air and cabin Filter were filthy, and the Oil was also not in good shape. And I ended up having to go get it inspected for the plates....Very poor Service department in my opinion....I will tell friends and associates of this experience.
