I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a Chevrolet Tahoe. I met Havin Hill, the sales rep. I told him what I was looking for and that I had seen online that they had a 2016 Tahoe that I was interested in. The price online was 32K. Havin Hill was extremely nice and helpful. He gave me two Tahoe's to pick from. I picked the Tahoe that suited me best. I knew the Tahoe was used. 05/16/2022 the date of my purchase the mileage on the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was 103572. I purchased several warranties for the used Tahoe in the belief that they would cover any and all things for my vehicle. I paid 10k in warranties through Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford and ETHOS GROUP INC. Shottenkirk Customer Care was $1,995.00. Prepaid Maintenance from ETHOS was $1,495.00. Ethos Mechanical Breakdown was $6,640.00. The financial woman told me that the warranties would cover bumper to bumper. I went ahead and got all the warranties because it was a used car and had over 103k miles on it under the impression that my warranties would cover it. What I did not know and what they did not tell me is that they sold me the Tahoe as is. I don't understand why they sold me 10k in warranties when they didn't cover any of the problems that came up in the first month of owning the Tahoe. I had to replace the battery on the Tahoe within 3 days of getting it from Shottenkirk. The check engine light came on in the Tahoe. I have family that are in the mechanical field. I had them run a test for me to tell what the codes were for. At that time it was fuel issues codes. I took my Tahoe to Shottenkirk to have them look at the codes and to see if they would repair the issues. After waiting 45 minutes the Service Manager Tim Krolak came out to tell me that it was just a censor and they cleared the code. I knew that was wrong. At that point I felt I was lied to and Shottenkirk lost my trust in that moment. I took my Tahoe to Jerry's GM in Weatherford TX on 06/07/2022 they had to replace my fuel injectors. None of my warranties covered the bill. I paid $1,448.00 when I picked up my Tahoe. The check engine light came on again and I took it back to Jerry's GM to get serviced 06/22/2022. This time the Catalytic Converter had to be replaced. Once again my warranties didn't cover the service. The amount was for $2,417.39. I paid once again out of my pocket. In total in those couple of weeks I paid $3,865.78. Fast track to today 09/28/2022 my Tahoe is back at Jerry's GM. I took in yesterday 09/27/2022 because the Tahoe stalled on my children and I as we were driving on the HWY. I felt the Tahoe was unsafe for my family. Today 09/28/2022 I went to Shottenkirk Toyota to speak with the general manager Barry Schwerdt. I was met outside by a sales rep. I didn't get his name. He said to give him a moment. I waited outside as he went inside to get me the GM. 2 men came out and greeted me outside. They approached me and asked me what they could do to help me? I asked each of them if they were the GM. Each of them said no. I asked if the assistant GM was available and they said no. They said their GM was out of town. I asked the 2 men for their names and at first they would not give them to me. Finally Brandon introduced himself but did not tell me what his role was. I asked the men if we could go inside and sit? They said yes. I brought my contract from the sale on the Tahoe and all the work that I had to do to the Tahoe and simply asked them to please buy the Tahoe back and do the right thing. Brandon said to give him a minute and that he would be back with an answer. Brandon came back and said that they do not buy cars over 100k miles. I know for a fact that is a lie. My Tahoe was sold to me at 103k. I looked on their website today and they have several used cars for sale with over 100k miles. I also learned that Brandon Cooper I is the internet director. Brandon offered me the opportunity to trade my Tahoe in for a different vehicle. When I said no he proceeded to tell me how wrong I was for not taking the Tahoe back to them when it came back on again after their Service manager Tim Krolak cleared my car code and lied about the issues. That's when I tried to explain to him that I bought 10k in warranties. Brandon still said he couldn't help me. I told Brandon he would be hearing from my lawyer. Brandon then said he could no longer speak to me. I did go to my lawyer when I left there. Come to find out my lawyer could not help because Shottenkirk did not check the boss that allowed my warranties to work. So I am reaching out to the Attorney General for help. Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford is full of lies and scams. I do not recommend Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford.

Service adviser listening to all my service needs and concerns: Rotate tires, check passenger side tire and rim for damage after going over small curb, verify battery doesn't need gas relief tube connection, check brakes, and notify CarFax that work has been done. After adviser's suggestion the BG full engine cleaning was authorized. The free car wash made this visit even better.

Would not do business with this dealership again.

Would not do business with this dealership again. Found the vehicle we were looking for at their dealership. The price listed online and the price they wanted for the vehicle was different. They do not state until financing they will add a Shottenkirk fee and a recondition fee. Both fees totaling almost 4,000 dollars plus the tax, title and license fees. Also, this dealership does not want to use popular financing institutions and the result is you will be charged higher interest rates. I was approved at three other dealerships using three other financing parties and the interest rates were 2-3 percent lower. The service center is the worst I have ever seen. They will not answer the phone or keep you informed unless you ask every call to speak to a manager Had to have a sensor that need to be replaced and it took them 4 try's and 2 weeks to get it done. I would not recommend this dealership.

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. Just terrible service, bought a car and the seat broke 2 months. They tried to charge me $1000 for a new seat motor. They lie about prices mandatory make you buy shottenkirk care for $1995 tons of hidden fees. The. They won’t help you and ignore calls. I would stay far away from these people. Not only does my daughter have to pay the overpriced car. Now to fix it for $1000 which was all her graduation money . Peggy in service was rude us, Brandon the manager was completely unhelpful. I regret buying here. They are truly a shotty place

Brandon was nice enough but the fact he work's for this outfit makes me question his character a bit. He should go to a real dealership where they don't bait you with one price on the internet then when you get there want you to pay $5,000 in "Mandatory fees". They'd be better off learning how to actually sell these joke add-ons and let those that want them buy them do so and those that don't, buy the xxxx vehicle. If you like the sales tactics of the 70's and 80's you'll love this place.

These crooks absolutely ripped off my family on a recent purchase. The most unethical business transaction I've seen in a long time! They didn't even bother to fill up the tank or wash the vehicle upon purchase. Lied about having a clean Carfax. The car has hail damage and an accident. No wonder they didn't wash it. Charged almost $10k for warranty and maintenance plan on a $30k car. Gave $7k less for trade than KBB value. This is a dealership that practices every stereotypical tactic to rip someone's head off and burry them in their purchase when the buyer doesn't know what they're getting into. They flat out took advantage of my family and the sales manager or GM will not even answer the phone. Beware!!!

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. We disclose this on our website under each vehicle’s information page. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us at 817-597-5000 and ask for one of our managers."

I would never recommend this business. It has now been over three weeks and I can't get a call back. They obviously don't care about their customers, so please don't waste your money at this dealership. Very unprofessional and unresponsive. Shottenkirk Toyota responded to my review along with a phone number to call at my earliest convenience. Of course, it's a non working number, so they look like they made an attempt to remedy my complaints but I couldn't respond. This is my original review: I was pressured in to purchasing a 2021 Highlander. I had to purchase that day to get the end of the month "special" deal. I should have known better. Once I drove it home, that was on a Friday, I realized it didn't have the drivers side seat memory. So I took it back 2 days later, on a Monday, and was told it was already titled to me and now it was a used vehicle. To get the Limited model, I would lose about $10,000. That was a very expensive lessen I could not afford but since my husband is 6'4 and I'm 5'2, my drivers seat would always be messed up when he drove. If I'd have known how it would be a used vehicle now with less than 100 miles, I would have taken it home and sold it myself. Especially since there is a new car shortage, I could have sold it in one day.

Inquired about a Dodge Durango drove out for a meeting with Alexander, a sales guys we never met but ended up working with Aubrey another sales guy. Aubrey brought a car (20 min later) that was not washed and had two low on air tires that were "super clean" when makes me think the tires we just put on the SUV. Another reason is that the tire gauges were malfunctioning and Aubrey seemed uninterested in finding out the issue or resolution. We agreed on the price and sat down and we were shown a price $4000 higher than what we agreed upon. At this point he begin to say how much he can come down on the price but we cannot do the price we agreed upon. - poor test drive - 6 inch hole in front bumper that was covered with Tape - sales manager allowed a sale to walk away.

So shady.

So shady. We showed up to look at 4 different cars they showed on their website as being on their lot. We clearly circled the lot many times and found none of the 4…finally went inside to see if we could look at any of the 4. They made us sit down and give them all this info…Travis said he was going to look them up and be right back. 20 min later we finally walked out. Went across the street for gas, called back over and talked to another guy who said…”oh yeah…2 of those are available. When can you be here.” I explained what had just happened…he said…”well, let me actually go put eyes on the cars and I’ll call you back.” He called back about 10min late and not 1 single car we were wanting to see was on the lot. All are supposedly at their dealership in Grandbury, a couple going through the inspection process. Truly, a bunch of shady used car salesmen. These kind of guys give the rest a bad name.

Ridiculous fees. Had a 2017 Tahoe for $43,974 on their website and the out the door price after $5k in ridiculous fees brought the out the door price to $52k. Please avoid places like this that prey on unsuspecting people. Complaints have been filed with Ken Paxton’s office/Texas Consumer Protection and the Texas DMV Dealer complaints. Glad I didn’t drive 3 hours one way. Shottenkirk Care is $3k and only offers 3k miles of protection. Spend your money elsewhere.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. First, they price the vehicles at a low cost online, and add on almost $4k in their Shottenkirk program to fix dents, dings, chips, etc. and there is no way to take that off of the total price of the vehicle. On top of that, they say they price vehicles according to the condition they receive them in which is false. I financed a 2020 GMC elevation for $50k out the door, which is relatively close to almost all dealership prices in the area. They DID NOT tell me the vehicle had hail damage on the hood and roof of the vehicle. Also, I understand they are not liable to list that in carfax. There was no reduction for these damages in the total cost of the vehicle. On top of that, instead of offering to fix the damages on the vehicle, they wanted to charge $1k for the hail dents to be fixed. Most people will say, “you should have looked over the vehicle before purchase”, which I did, but white is very hard to see imperfections on in the middle of the day. Therefore, I would not recommend anyone buy a vehicle from a dealership that isn’t going to be honest and up front about the vehicle you are purchasing. The bad thing is, they took it to the detail shop to have it cleaned before my purchase, and still never mentioned the small hail dents in the hood. Which, in my opinion, I’m sure they came across and never bothered to mention. Anyway, if you buy a car from these people, be careful! It is going to cost me a couple hundred out of pocket to have my vehicle fixed now.

Went in to look at an Ford F250 in the used lot. On the website they advertise their "SALE PRICE" but then when I get there they add 7 thousand to that so called SALE PRICE stated on the website. That is a classic bait and switch. Their explanation is a very small disclaimer of due to the current auto situation we're adding to the price. I don't care if you want to sell the car for 200 thousand, that's your right. But show that price and not LIE ABOUT IT... I'm looking into lawsuit options. Read for a GENUINE and HONEST review of this dealership location. I am a fully disabled U.S. Army combat veteran and I am not someone just going on the internet leaving reviews because I didn't get my way, like most of the reviews you'll see throughout life. I have been taught and have had Honesty, Integrity, Honor, Respect, and Selfless Service values drilled into my being throughout my military career. Every one of these things is a bullet point of EVERYTHING this dealership lacks. I HAVE PURCHASED THREE (3) VEHICLES WITHIN A YEAR 1/2 FROM THIS PLACE! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. I have seen several reviews that state sketchiness and them adding stuff on the contracts without knowledge from the customer, seems like that would be illegal. Just like many of you, I was like "Yeah right, you have to look into it more" well they're beyond good at being that way to people evidently. Then they harped on "Oh, thank you so much for your service, we are going to do our best to take care of you and your family".. Thanks, you really took good care of us 👍 (sarcasm) I have never been treated as terrible in my life or been drug through the mud like what this dealership is doing right now. Thats saying a lot, seeing how the end of my military career I was an Active Duty Infantryman with the 82nd airborne division, where we lived in the mud and trenches. EXPLANATION: If you've made it this far in my review I appreciate you deeply for taking the time. I went to this dealership with my 2020 F150 for a trade in, was told that a 2018 F250 King Ranch was just brought in and was available. We walk to the back to take a look and it was covered in stickers and decals from the previous owner, not a big deal, that stuff can be removed, all fine. Further inspection we find out that the sunroof is sticking and won't open. I WAS ASSURED AND PROMISED that "its a Ford thing we will have the sunroof fixed, the decals taken off, and it will be ready to go within a day or two." When we go back in to discuss numbers, which took absolutely forever (due to them trying to squeeze every dollar they possibly could out of us), we all came to an agreement on a price. We go into the finance office to discuss everything else, I say I want GAP ONLY, because I plan on purchasing a warranty elsewhere. We agree and go into signing a "Click Here for Signature" type contract on an iPad. I do not leave with the truck because it needed the work done on it, so I was told. I come back two days later, pick the truck up and im told "your paperwork still needs to be sent up, its not ready at this time, we'll call you when its ready. We can also set up a day for you to drop it off to have the sunroof and buttons fixed, since we have to send it down to Ford" TWO WEEKS LATER I get a call to come get my paperwork. While im there I figured i'd ask "When can we set up a day to get my sunroof and my mirror buttons fixed" Im then told, by Dillon Erick (Sales Manager) that there is nothing anywhere saying they made that kinda deal with me. I ask for the finance manager that did my deal and then im told "The finance manager and the salesman that worked your deal have both been fired." For one, highly unprofessional that you are airing the dealerships problems to me. Secondly how is them getting fired MY PROBLEM. After standing there for well over 30 minutes waiting for my paperwork that had still, "not been sent up to accounting" per Dillon, I then sense some shadiness going on, thinking it should not be taking 2 weeks and 35 minutes for paperwork on a truck deal. After receiving an envelope with papers in it, I look over the packet, behold, THREE different warranties on my contract and a payment $200+ more than what we agreed on with that finance manager that was "fired". Now im being told that there is nothing that they can do because everyone that made my deal or had a hand on my deal has been "fired". So im to just get screwed over with the higher payment, a broken sunroof, and mirror buttons that are just for show and don't actually work?

Late in the evening time of day didn’t matter at all. Helped me find what I was looking for and made me a great deal on my trade in. “I made that review after the sale”. At that point everything was great. After the sale and at the point where I started trying to schedule getting upgrades installed, that I had paid for upfront, things really went to xxxx. I found out that service after the sale is sorely lacking at this dealership. At least it is from sales rep. Cody Blackwell. Also received poor service in my first visit to the service dept. for my first complimentary maintenance provided by Toyota for the first 2 years. If this is what you get for complimentary service, I would rather pay for it.

I went in for the first of my 2 years of complimentary maintenance provided by Toyota. They had to take the wheels off to rotate the tires so I asked them to check the balance because of a vibration. I DID NOT ask them to do it for free. When they turned the vehicle back over to me I asked about the balance. I was told by the service advisor that the service tech had refused to check balance and said it was probably my tires, that are BRAND NEW from the factory. They did rotate the tires but didn’t bother to adjust the air pressure. Toyota specs specify for more air pressure in the rear tires than in the front. After I got home and checked the pressure I found higher air pressure in the front tires than the rear. This is just not good customer service. I also want it known that I have seen a poor level of service from this dealership that started right after I signed the paperwork. I paid upfront for a leather seat upgrade and a bed cover that I had multiple problems getting scheduled through my sales rep. Cody Blackwell. It took about a month after the sale to get my upgrades installed. Cody Blackwell wasted my time not once, but TWO TIMES he scheduled me to bring the truck in for the leather installation BEFORE the leather had even been ordered by the installer. Cody Blackwell assured me that the installation of the leather AND the bed cover could be done in 1 DAY even after I questioned it with skepticism. I later found out that the leather installer usually needs the vehicle for 2 1/2 days minimum. Cody Blackwell gave me the impression that he just didn’t want to be bothered after he made the sale. I’m sure to buy another Toyota in a few years, but it won’t be from Shottenkirk Weatherford. I’ll shop in Ft. Worth or Dallas for my next one. I’ve had several Fords before this Toyota. I purchased all of them from Southwest Ford, across the street from Shottenkirk Toyota. If I was this Shottenkirk fella I would do whatever I could to copy how Southwest Ford serves their customers before AND AFTER the sale, but he better hitch up his belt because he has A LONG LONG WAY to go.

The worst service I have received at a dealership in my life. I had an appointment to see a vehicle in which I confirmed my appointment and when I got there I was told my salesman was with another customer. After traveling to the dealership an hour and a half, I had to wait 30 minutes for the sales manager to tell me that the vehicle was sold 2 hours before my appointment and asked if I was interested in anything else. I personally believe that the vehicle had been sold and their objective is to get people to come there for the bait and switch. I asked the sales manager why I wasn’t notified that the vehicle was sold and he said that it is impossible to do that since they sell so many cars. He took no accountability and made it seem like I was supposed to keep calling constantly on my way to the dealership to make sure the vehicle was still there. So what’s the point of making an appointment? I have purchased several cars throughout the Years and I have never experienced such unprofessional service. I would definitely not recommend this dealership.

Ridiculous fees. Had a 2017 Tahoe for $43,974 on their website and the out the door price after $5k in ridiculous fees brought the out the door price to $52k. Please avoid places like this that prey on unsuspecting people. Complaints have been filed with Ken Paxton’s office/Texas Consumer Protection and the Texas DMV Dealer complaints. Glad I didn’t drive 3 hours one way. Shottenkirk Care is $3k and only offers 3k miles of protection. Spend your money elsewhere.

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. I am but this dealerships customer service and leadership...

I am but this dealerships customer service and leadership isn't worth a good 25 word review! I do NOT recommend this dealership to anyone!!! (I've been asked for the additional following information below) I submitted my truck to Shottenkirk Toyota for engine warranty work. My warranty stipulates that I am to receive a loaner or rental car if my vehicle is kept overnight. They had my vehicle 5.5 days and never got me into a vehicle to drive nor communicated with me regarding the issues or transportation. They kept my truck 5.5 days and then instructed me to remove my truck from their property as they couldn't/wouldn't work on it. I am an hour away from them and had no transportation and they were of NO help in any way and rude. Further, I was told by the leadership of Shottenkirk that because I didn't purchase either my vehicle or warranty through him/them that I wasn't his/their customer. Regardless of were I bought my truck and warranty, I bought it off a Toyota lot. That makes me a Toyota customer!!! What I didn't inform these men of, I actually purchased a 2020 Toyota 86 GT off the showroom floor (same dealership as my truck) with warranty and all one month after I bought my truck. I wasn't going to defend my customer status to a band of... This is all the additional time I'm wasting on Shottenkirk Toyota. I will NOT do nor do I recommend them to anyone reading this review to do business with them.

This is our first time purchasing with Toyota. My husband and I called the dealerships and were immediately answered and directed an enthusiastic sales representative. After explaining to him what we were looking for we made the trip out to Weather Ford . Cody was very help and explained that the TRD we were looking for was In transit but assured us it would be on the lot within 3 to 6 days. After a bit more than explanation and a visit with finance, we agreed on acceptable terms and purchased our first Toyota! Love our TRD!

Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford is a Sham. I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer on 12/08/2021 the Vehicle was advertised as $25,750.00 and once I looked into the documents further after they rushed me through financing. I paid over $12k over the advertised price, they say it was for a reconditioning fee which I would love to know what they reconditioned because the car has a huge dent on the driverside rear to get that repaired is 1,500 out of my pocket. When I purchased the vehicle on 12/08/2021 I did have to have a co-signer and they live in another state but they said they had to wait for the "wet doc" to be signed before I could get my vehicle, which I didn't get until 12/14/2021. The only good part of this whole buying expereince was dealing with Zach Payne and the Sales Team.

The advertised price was awesome. Unfortunately it was a bait and switch. Not only did the truck have hail damage on the hood, and the power running boards were bit functioning properly, but the salesman tried to tell me the running boards weren’t supposed to retract. Ford F-150 Platinum running boards are power retracting. I’m no idiot. I was willing to overlook it due to the great price. Then we sit down and they show the ACTUAL price including a warranty and a reconditioning price of $4500. The reconditioning hadn’t been done, obviously since the running boards weren’t fixed and there was even a scuff on a door handle from a yellow post in a parking lot. Then I was informed that they COULD NOT remove the warranty. It is against the law to force someone to buy a warranty. I guess they figured we wouldn’t walk out. I did and will never darken a Shottenkirk door again.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. First, they price the vehicles at a low cost online, and add on almost $4k in their Shottenkirk program to fix dents, dings, chips, etc. and there is no way to take that off of the total price of the vehicle. On top of that, they say they price vehicles according to the condition they receive them in which is false. I financed a 2020 GMC elevation for $50k out the door, which is relatively close to almost all dealership prices in the area. They DID NOT tell me the vehicle had hail damage on the hood and roof of the vehicle. Also, I understand they are not liable to list that in carfax. There was no reduction for these damages in the total cost of the vehicle. On top of that, instead of offering to fix the damages on the vehicle, they wanted to charge $1k for the hail dents to be fixed. Most people will say, “you should have looked over the vehicle before purchase”, which I did, but white is very hard to see imperfections on in the middle of the day. Therefore, I would not recommend anyone buy a vehicle from a dealership that isn’t going to be honest and up front about the vehicle you are purchasing. The bad thing is, they took it to the detail shop to have it cleaned before my purchase, and still never mentioned the small hail dents in the hood. Which, in my opinion, I’m sure they came across and never bothered to mention. Anyway, if you buy a car from these people, be careful! It is going to cost me a couple hundred out of pocket to have my vehicle fixed now.

Should be zero stars! I'm convinced that this dealership engages in illegal practices, in that NO BUYER can purchase a vehicle for the price advertised on the internet. Texas law mandates that ANY BUYER should be able to buy a car for the published price, and that the only lawful additions to that price are sales tax and registration fees. This dealership requires NON-NEGOTIABLE additions for their own internal "warranty" (which I would trust as far as I could thrown the car) and their "Reconditioning" costs. Again, per Texas law, reconditioning costs (those costs incurred to make the car ready for sale) MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE ADVERTISED SALE PRICE! In the altered Shottenkirk universe, the buyer has to pay extra for the reconditioning costs. Avoid these high-pressure, deceptive tactics like the plague.

The worst dealership ever, they are scammers and liars that use false advertisement to get you to their dealership. This dealership advertises cars at what would be a good deal but when it comes down to negotiating a deal the sales manager comes out with the paper that has the sales price and different finance options considering you approval rate and down payment which is fine. But then the sales price has been inflated several thousands of dollars because they added shop cost tire, dent, and windshield warranty, That's right a warranty that you don't ask for and according to the sales manager they will not remove. This is called Product Packing to inflate the price of the car to cause the customer to finance more and adds more to the tax title and license. I contacted the General Manager Barry schwerdt by email knowing that he probably wouldn't respond because the the sales managers Alan Schwerdt and Josh schwerdt are related to him and that he wouldn't do anything about this illegal procedure.

Worst experience I’ve had with any dealership. We drove an hour to see and ultimately buy the vehicle. When it came down to the costs and everything we were ready to sign until we saw the page and they had an additional $3500 to the advertised price. Ridiculous scam. I wish I could give a lower review. They were shameless about it. I went on Yelp as well and saw many other reviews of the same experience as I did. Call them and ask for the walk out price before wasting your time driving down there.

This dealership uses (at best) deceptive business practices, and at worst - illegal business practices. My experience mirrors so many others on Yelp/other review sites, and in some cases, takes it to the extreme. Detailed recount of events below: Online/ "No Hassle Pricing" on multiple sites and on dealer's own website was stated as $17,660 For a 2019 Honda Accord LX. Called and spoke to salesman who confirmed the price and stated no ancillary fees outside of "TTL, doc, and registration." This aligned with "disclaimer" on website for the vehicle, and is standard in the industry. It wasn't until AFTER two of the three test drives and several hours spent at the dealership that Jared (salesman) brings up dealership's "Reconditioning/Prep fee" & "Shottenkirk care" fees passed along to customers. I briefly attempted to solicit details on each and made it clear i would not pay those. This was just the tip of my issue, but clarification warranted nonetheless. Why would i pay for another warranty on cars still with OEM factory & powertrain warranties remaining? He went to get his manager (Terry Ford). Terry brings me the balance sheet breaking down the costs AFTER several hours of test drives etc. Total (before lowball trade in offer) was OVER $22,000. The bulk of this revolved around these "mandatory" Shottenkirk Care @ $1,995.00 & a Pre-Owned Inspection @ $1,500.00 in addition to Non-tax Fees @ 225.77 & Dealer Doc is $150.00. I ask what $1,999.00 Shottenkirk Care fee is. Terry Ford (Manager) says this is a "service/warranty contract REQUIRED on all vehicles we sell". Mind you the vehicle in question has most of both the powertrain and factory warranty remaining. I say I do not want that service and that I do not want to pay for it. He says I "HAVE to get it". I ask what the $1,500.00 Pre-owned Inspection fee is. Terry Ford (Manager) says it is what it cost him to get the car ready to sell. I told him it seems they are manufacturing or inflating the actual "prep" fees and passing business expenses onto consumers. Every dealership has minimal checks/maintenance/cleaning done on units presale. Write that off on taxes, don't attempt to manufacture additional costs and pass it along to customers. An oil/filter change with other checks and a wash does not equate to $1500 dollars. If that was actual overhead/make ready costs, you wouldn't be in business very long i wouldn't think. His only response was to reiterate the mandate that these be paid. Not only did the salesman fail to bring these up when I called in, but they are nowhere to be found on the dealer's website. Terry then offered me $3500 for my 2012 ford fusion with only 21,600 miles. Car is in excellent shape, validated by the offers i have received from other dealerships (including Family Toyota) AFTER they also inspected the car in person. See all of those offers attached. When i told Terry that GiveMetheVin and Carmax were the high bidders at $7900 and $8,000 respectively. His answer was the following - "You can't include GiveMetheVin because they are a different type of business". He did not ask for the offer letters, or anything. I told him that GiveMetheVin was a wholesaler, in the business of buying cars TO SELL TO DEALERSHIPS who then mark up to sell to customers. The fact that a wholesaler hit my car that much higher should be an instant red flag. I thought he maybe mistyped something to get that offer and made sure he had miles etc. was correct. His only reply was that they would come up to $4500. For additional context, it was 7:30PM at this point, and i got the feeling he was looking to leave since I was insistent on these bogus "mandatory" and borderline illegal fees be removed. At that point i stood up, shook his hand and said if that is the case I'd like my keys and thanked him for his time. He did not say a word, huffed, and walked away without giving me my keys. He did not say a word to me. I had to come back in and follow Jared (salesman) to go get my keys. It was at that point i overheard Terry flat out calling me a liar for the supposed "offer" i had on the car. Immediately sent an email to the GM and have yet to hear a response. The cherry on top is the reviews he wrote about his own dealership posing as a customer.

I went to Shottenkirk Toyota on 05/16/2022 looking for a Chevrolet Tahoe. I met Havin Hill, the sales rep. I told him what I was looking for and that I had seen online that they had a 2016 Tahoe that I was interested in. The price online was 32K. Havin Hill was extremely nice and helpful. He gave me two Tahoe's to pick from. I picked the Tahoe that suited me best. I knew the Tahoe was used. 05/16/2022 the date of my purchase the mileage on the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was 103572. I purchased several warranties for the used Tahoe in the belief that they would cover any and all things for my vehicle. I paid 10k in warranties through Shottenkirk Toyota Weatherford and ETHOS GROUP INC. Shottenkirk Customer Care was $1,995.00. Prepaid Maintenance from ETHOS was $1,495.00. Ethos Mechanical Breakdown was $6,640.00. The financial woman told me that the warranties would cover bumper to bumper. I went ahead and got all the warranties because it was a used car and had over 103k miles on it under the impression that my warranties would cover it. What I did not know and what they did not tell me is that they sold me the Tahoe as is. I don't understand why they sold me 10k in warranties when they didn't cover any of the problems that came up in the first month of owning the Tahoe. I had to replace the battery on the Tahoe within 3 days of getting it from Shottenkirk. The check engine light came on in the Tahoe. I have family that are in the mechanical field. I had them run a test for me to tell what the codes were for. At that time it was fuel issues codes. I took my Tahoe to Shottenkirk to have them look at the codes and to see if they would repair the issues. After waiting 45 minutes the Service Manager Tim Krolak came out to tell me that it was just a censor and they cleared the code. I knew that was wrong. At that point I felt I was lied to and Shottenkirk lost my trust in that moment. I took my Tahoe to Jerry's GM in Weatherford TX on 06/07/2022 they had to replace my fuel injectors. None of my warranties covered the bill. I paid $1,448.00 when I picked up my Tahoe. The check engine light came on again and I took it back to Jerry's GM to get serviced 06/22/2022. This time the Catalytic Converter had to be replaced. Once again my warranties didn't cover the service. The amount was for $2,417.39. I paid once again out of my pocket. In total in those couple of weeks I paid $3,865.78. Fast track to today 09/28/2022 my Tahoe is back at Jerry's GM. I took in yesterday 09/27/2022 because the Tahoe stalled on my children and I as we were driving on the HWY. I felt the Tahoe was unsafe for my family. Today 09/28/2022 I went to Shottenkirk Toyota to speak with the general manager Barry Schwerdt. I was met outside by a sales rep. I didn't get his name. He said to give him a moment. I waited outside as he went inside to get me the GM. 2 men came out and greeted me outside. They approached me and asked me what they could do to help me? I asked each of them if they were the GM. Each of them said no. I asked if the assistant GM was available and they said no. They said their GM was out of town. I asked the 2 men for their names and at first they would not give them to me. Finally Brandon introduced himself but did not tell me what his role was. I asked the men if we could go inside and sit? They said yes. I brought my contract from the sale on the Tahoe and all the work that I had to do to the Tahoe and simply asked them to please buy the Tahoe back and do the right thing. Brandon said to give him a minute and that he would be back with an answer. Brandon came back and said that they do not buy cars over 100k miles. I know for a fact that is a lie. My Tahoe was sold to me at 103k. I looked on their website today and they have several used cars for sale with over 100k miles. I also learned that Brandon Cooper I is the internet director. Brandon offered me the opportunity to trade my Tahoe in for a different vehicle. When I said no he proceeded to tell me how wrong I was for not taking the Tahoe back to them when it came back on again after their Service manager Tim Krolak cleared my car code and lied about the issues. That's when I tried to explain to him that I bought 10k in warranties. Brandon still said he couldn't help me. I told Brandon he would be hearing from my lawyer. Brandon then said he could no longer speak to me. I did go to my lawyer when I left there. Come to find out my lawyer could not help because Shottenkirk did not check the boss that allowed my warranties to work. So I am reaching out to the Attorney General for help. Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford is full of lies and scams. I do not recommend Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford.

Service adviser listening to all my service needs and concerns: Rotate tires, check passenger side tire and rim for damage after going over small curb, verify battery doesn't need gas relief tube connection, check brakes, and notify CarFax that work has been done. After adviser's suggestion the BG full engine cleaning was authorized. The free car wash made this visit even better.

Would not do business with this dealership again. Found the vehicle we were looking for at their dealership. The price listed online and the price they wanted for the vehicle was different. They do not state until financing they will add a Shottenkirk fee and a recondition fee. Both fees totaling almost 4,000 dollars plus the tax, title and license fees. Also, this dealership does not want to use popular financing institutions and the result is you will be charged higher interest rates. I was approved at three other dealerships using three other financing parties and the interest rates were 2-3 percent lower. The service center is the worst I have ever seen. They will not answer the phone or keep you informed unless you ask every call to speak to a manager Had to have a sensor that need to be replaced and it took them 4 try's and 2 weeks to get it done. I would not recommend this dealership.

Original Post: Dealer wouldn't negotiate whatsoever on a used car. Salesperson ghosted me for several hours. Called back and ended up with a rude sales person. When I went to negotiate, they said they would only take list. Avoid them. Extra: Since then I was told to call the Manager for more detail. I called without being annoyed/angry and asked what the car is out the door unrelated to taxes. On their site the car is listed for $37,298. On Truecar the car is listed for the $36,928 or somewhere around there (with the Truecar price). When I asked the Manager what the price would be out the door, I was told $43k. The car new was only worth $40k. They added on their "reconditioning fee". If you read any other review that talks poorly about them, they are obviously a scummy dealer trying to pull a fast one on people. This will be shared on social media (besides this review page), which will give people a fair warning of what this dealer is trying to pull. A $5-6k markup on a used car is insane, hence why this car has been sitting for four months. If you KBB this car, it is worth between $34k-$38k. Shoutout to manager's for at least being honest (If you ask them specifically). If you read some reviews, there are a few people who have driven over an hour just for this bait and switch to happen. I can't wait to see the default response they send to everyone that calls them out for bait and switch. I called a Manager, and this is what I got. "Thank you for your feedback. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies. Due to current market volatility, we are pricing our vehicles immediately following an acquisition. All are reconditioned and made ready for immediate sale. The internet price is the advertised price plus reconditioning, tax, title, license, and any dealer installed options. We disclose this on our website under each vehicle’s information page. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us at 817-597-5000 and ask for one of our managers."
