Good service, just need better Coronavirus protection

The service was great here. They were courteous and fast. My only complaint is that no one was wearing a mask. I am very concerned about contracting the virus and thus I have limited my exposure to establishments that make employees and customers wear masks. The most recent studies indicated that if an infected person wears a mask, transmission of the virus is reduced by 75%. If both parties wear a mask the transmission rate is reduced by 95%. Employees wearing a mask mean that I as a customer will feel safer. Not having employees wear masks means that the establishment does care for my health. Mask wearing is like not smoking in public. You can't control your germs any more than you can control you smoke. Smoking in public endangers the health of others - at this time not wearing a mask endangers the health of others. Remember: Wearing is caring! Please show that you care about your customers.

Bait & Switch ( Buyers Beware! )

Buyers beware! I've never been so disappointed at a dealership. The price listed online says to "Click Here" to get today's even lower price. When you click it, they ask you for email and contact information. I drove 3 hours to make a deal on a not quite new Toyota Tundra. They added dealership packages for thousands of extra dollars that I did not want. They would not take them off. While waiting on our ride, Michael Daugherty's exact words were "That's the way we do business..."! Don’t waste you time going to this dealership. This was my worst experience at a car dealership in over 40 years.

Drove almost an hour for a truck listed “clean car fax” 1 owner no accidents. Got there and the drivers side truck bed had the worst repairs I had ever seen. Bondo smeared on the bedside and sprayed paint still so wet it would indent with a nail. Paint and bondo already flaking. Called it with the sales rep “Mark” and he didn’t know. Had the discussion with the sales manager “Todd” and he said he had seen it. Tried to negotiate the price and they wouldn’t budge. They would however finance the “repair” into the loan. But above all, you have to buy their $1600+ 6 month warranty or they will not sell you the vehicle. They would not even take the listed online price. The “general manager” so Todd the sales manager says would not budge. Truck listed on site at $23,600+ but by the time they added all their fees and “warranty” they wanted $28k+. Buyer beware. Do not waste your time with this stealership.

Not only are they dishonest in their sales pricing, but...

Not only are they dishonest in their sales pricing, but their sales managers become very confrontational and condescending when you point out how off their advertised price is compared to the one they're presenting you with at the dealership. Long story short, walked into their dealership with a pre-approval in hand but shortly after, they had pushed to run our eligibility through their own lenders. They then proceeded to present us with a final price that was 37% over the advertised price!! They add a “mandatory” used car inspection and car protection program that mark up the car up by at least 29%. Anyways, they made for the worst car shopping experience that I have ever had because not only did the sales manager insult me to my face (and I’m more than willing to let the owner know what the insults were), he got aggressive and diminishing. Trying to sell to me with the fact that it didn’t matter how high the price just rose up as long as he was giving me lower monthly payments. Any intelligent human being knows that a high price doesn’t automatically disappear just the payments are low. WE STILL HAVE TO PAY THE TOTAL COST IN THE LONG RUN!! Word of advice Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford, when you advertise a car as having a “locked haggle free” price, then include all the unnecessary hidden fees to the price so we know what to expect. And finally, please stop insulting and intimidating your customers! We’re no longer in the 1980’s.

Failed to make a safety inspection and sold improper tires

This dealership sold me a used vehicle that could not pass a safety inspection which should never have been offered for sale without making necessary repairs first. The vehicle had improper load bearing tires installed prior to sale. I had to spend an additional $1,800 after sale , which the dealership refused to accept any responsibility. I wouldn’t buy a car here or recommend anyone else to do so. Unsatisfied customer.

Oil change and tire rotation

The service center has always been good. When Sottenkirk took over Durant I lost the service tech's I've always delt with. In addition, turnaround on the staff seems to be high. When having my tires rotated they continually chip the gloss on my wheels around my lug nut holes. It's a result of someone being in a hurry and not taking their time. I've complained, but it's still happening. If it were a new vehicle I would take it somewhere else. Average price at Durant for the same service, with coupon, was around 70.00. With Shottenkirk it's a little over $100.00.

High pressure sales

Very high pressure sales. reminded me of buying cars in the 80's. The finance wasn't any better. I went through my local credit union and the interest rate was 2% higher. When I questioned it he told me that it was harder to get a loan they were tighten up on there lending which was a lie because I called the credit union. Also I couldn't drive the car till I took it to ford dealer because the trans was acting up and they fixed it. I guessed no one checked the tire pressure either because the front had too much pressure and rears were low.

Horrible experience! Buyer beware of false advertizement. I drove an hour and a 1/2 based upon the Internet ad and talking with the salesman. Got there and management tried to add an additional $3500 in "fees" in addition to TTL. The salesman was great to work with but the manager was arrogant and in competent. I have bought close to 20 cars in my life and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place.

Used corvette purchase to Scottsdale.

Fuel was EMPTY, Not low, but empty. I was very concerned about making it to the nearest station 10 miles away. Also car was not really clean. After agreeing on the deal and making a cc deposit, it took a week to get me the paperwork. Great car though.

Fair Dealing with a bit of negotiating

I appreciate Steve's honest and fair dealing! I never like the add on fees (dealer prep fees and 'Shottenkirk Care Package' at this dealership) and hard pressure warranty sales at the finance table, but realize that's the way it is in the car business these days.

Don't Care About Their Customers

Scheduled an appointment for a viewing. Had my father-in-law drive out to see the car. They called me last minute to say the car was at another location. They said they would follow up but they didn't. When I called in and talked to Hannah she blamed her co-worker, Diana, blamed me for not being a serious buyer (same day decided to buy from another dealer), and blamed my father-in-law for showing up instead of me. She was rude and talked over me. I was lured in with the price of the vehicle, but looking at other reviews, I would be cautious that the final price might be a lot higher!

Bait & Switch ( Buyers Beware! )

Buyers beware! I've never been so disappointed at a dealership. The price listed online says to "Click Here" to get today's even lower price. When you click it, they ask you for email and contact information. I drove 3 hours to make a deal on a not quite new Toyota Tundra. They added dealership packages for thousands of extra dollars that I did not want. They would not take them off. While waiting on our ride, Michael Daugherty's exact words were "That's the way we do business..."! Don’t waste you time going to this dealership. This was my worst experience at a car dealership in over 40 years.

Not only are they dishonest in their sales pricing, but...

Not only are they dishonest in their sales pricing, but their sales managers become very confrontational and condescending when you point out how off their advertised price is compared to the one they're presenting you with at the dealership. Long story short, walked into their dealership with a pre-approval in hand but shortly after, they had pushed to run our eligibility through their own lenders. They then proceeded to present us with a final price that was 37% over the advertised price!! They add a “mandatory” used car inspection and car protection program that mark up the car up by at least 29%. Anyways, they made for the worst car shopping experience that I have ever had because not only did the sales manager insult me to my face (and I’m more than willing to let the owner know what the insults were), he got aggressive and diminishing. Trying to sell to me with the fact that it didn’t matter how high the price just rose up as long as he was giving me lower monthly payments. Any intelligent human being knows that a high price doesn’t automatically disappear just the payments are low. WE STILL HAVE TO PAY THE TOTAL COST IN THE LONG RUN!! Word of advice Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford, when you advertise a car as having a “locked haggle free” price, then include all the unnecessary hidden fees to the price so we know what to expect. And finally, please stop insulting and intimidating your customers! We’re no longer in the 1980’s.

Spoke to like I was a piece of trash, didn’t care about my business tried to add on 4000 more then price listed when asked about it was told “too bad it comes with it”. The manager Mike Daughtey is a Complete and utter tool with no personality and 0 customer service skills. Beware if your credit isn’t great they will treat you like crap!

Good service, just need better Coronavirus protection

The service was great here. They were courteous and fast. My only complaint is that no one was wearing a mask. I am very concerned about contracting the virus and thus I have limited my exposure to establishments that make employees and customers wear masks. The most recent studies indicated that if an infected person wears a mask, transmission of the virus is reduced by 75%. If both parties wear a mask the transmission rate is reduced by 95%. Employees wearing a mask mean that I as a customer will feel safer. Not having employees wear masks means that the establishment does care for my health. Mask wearing is like not smoking in public. You can't control your germs any more than you can control you smoke. Smoking in public endangers the health of others - at this time not wearing a mask endangers the health of others. Remember: Wearing is caring! Please show that you care about your customers.

Drove almost an hour for a truck listed “clean car fax” 1 owner no accidents. Got there and the drivers side truck bed had the worst repairs I had ever seen. Bondo smeared on the bedside and sprayed paint still so wet it would indent with a nail. Paint and bondo already flaking. Called it with the sales rep “Mark” and he didn’t know. Had the discussion with the sales manager “Todd” and he said he had seen it. Tried to negotiate the price and they wouldn’t budge. They would however finance the “repair” into the loan. But above all, you have to buy their $1600+ 6 month warranty or they will not sell you the vehicle. They would not even take the listed online price. The “general manager” so Todd the sales manager says would not budge. Truck listed on site at $23,600+ but by the time they added all their fees and “warranty” they wanted $28k+. Buyer beware. Do not waste your time with this stealership.

Word of advice Shottenkirk Toyota of Weatherford, when you advertise a car as having a “locked haggle free” price, then include all the unnecessary hidden fees to the price so we know what to expect. And finally, please stop insulting and intimidating your customers! We’re no longer in the 1980’s.

Failed to make a safety inspection and sold improper tires

This dealership sold me a used vehicle that could not pass a safety inspection which should never have been offered for sale without making necessary repairs first. The vehicle had improper load bearing tires installed prior to sale. I had to spend an additional $1,800 after sale , which the dealership refused to accept any responsibility. I wouldn’t buy a car here or recommend anyone else to do so. Unsatisfied customer.

Oil change and tire rotation

The service center has always been good. When Sottenkirk took over Durant I lost the service tech's I've always delt with. In addition, turnaround on the staff seems to be high. When having my tires rotated they continually chip the gloss on my wheels around my lug nut holes. It's a result of someone being in a hurry and not taking their time. I've complained, but it's still happening. If it were a new vehicle I would take it somewhere else. Average price at Durant for the same service, with coupon, was around 70.00. With Shottenkirk it's a little over $100.00.

High pressure sales

Very high pressure sales. reminded me of buying cars in the 80's. The finance wasn't any better. I went through my local credit union and the interest rate was 2% higher. When I questioned it he told me that it was harder to get a loan they were tighten up on there lending which was a lie because I called the credit union. Also I couldn't drive the car till I took it to ford dealer because the trans was acting up and they fixed it. I guessed no one checked the tire pressure either because the front had too much pressure and rears were low.

Bait & Switch ( Buyers Beware! )

Buyers beware! I've never been so disappointed at a dealership. The price listed online says to "Click Here" to get today's even lower price. When you click it, they ask you for email and contact information. I drove 3 hours to make a deal on a not quite new Toyota Tundra. They added dealership packages for thousands of extra dollars that I did not want. They would not take them off. While waiting on our ride, Michael Daugherty's exact words were "That's the way we do business..."! Don’t waste you time going to this dealership. This was my worst experience at a car dealership in over 40 years.

Horrible experience! Buyer beware of false advertizement. I drove an hour and a 1/2 based upon the Internet ad and talking with the salesman. Got there and management tried to add an additional $3500 in "fees" in addition to TTL. The salesman was great to work with but the manager was arrogant and in competent. I have bought close to 20 cars in my life and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place.

Used corvette purchase to Scottsdale.

Fuel was EMPTY, Not low, but empty. I was very concerned about making it to the nearest station 10 miles away. Also car was not really clean. After agreeing on the deal and making a cc deposit, it took a week to get me the paperwork. Great car though.

I appreciate Steve's honest and fair dealing! I never like the add on fees (dealer prep fees and 'Shottenkirk Care Package' at this dealership) and hard pressure warranty sales at the finance table, but realize that's the way it is in the car business these days.
